Join us each Wednesday evening for AWANA club from 6:00pm-7:30pm

Children age 3 ( must be 3 years old before August 1st 2011) through 6th grade are invited.  

 Each AWANA Club night is a 1 1/2 hour program meeting each Wednesday at 6:00 pm during the school year, beginning September 7th, 2011.

The three main segments of club are:

Game Time – Features unique games played around the game circle.

Handbook Time – Features achievements in AWANA handbooks by memorizing Bible verses and completing activities. 

Worship/Story Time – This segment includes awards, music, announcements, testimonies, Bible message, and invitation.

Parents are invited to attend with their child and are also invited to help in AWANA Club.

Wednesday Night Fellowship Meal

The whole family is welcome to attend. 

Pizza and salad are served in the gym at from 5:00 to 6:00 for a small donation.

Please note that children need to attend the meal under the supervision of their parent.

Note: AWANA  club meets on nights when school is in session.

If school lets out due to inclement weather and/or health reasons, AWANA Club will also be cancelled for that evening session.

Honduras 2011: The summer of 2011 Honduras Mission Trip has left an everlasting impression on the hearts of the team members. This was the first trip to Honduras for 9 of the 16 team members. The opportunities to serve at the orphanage included the building of a guard shack, automobile repair, yard work, organization of materials for an upcoming event at the orphanage, and teaching the girls how to sew.  At a school near the orphanage, the team helped move dirt to make a soccer field for the children there.

Joplin 2011: Two teams headed to Joplin in 2011. One in the fall and one right after Christmas. The groups teamed up with Forest Baptist Church of Joplin and their efforts in helping their community recover from the deadly tornado. ”Mission Joplin” is one of Forest Park’s responses to the devastating tornado that struck the Joplin area on May 22, 2011.  The goal of “Mission Joplin” is to show Christ’s love through providing physical needs of community members. Our mission team members assisted in ”Mission Jpolin’s”  efforts by stocking shelves, sorting items, delivering furniture, receiving shipments and by sharing God’s love in practical ways. Mission teams are forming to continue in helping the people of Joplin throughout 2012.

In June of 2009 we hosted the horse whisperer event. We were able to watch a horse being gently broken by the skill of a horse whisperer. We were amazed by the trust that is established by the horseman in order to win the never-before-ridden horse over. By the end of the event, the horse whisperer, David Case, was able to end the event from the back of the newly saddled horse.
