We had See You At the Pole today at the flagpole between the high school and middle school. We have some incredible youth that prayed for God to change their lives, their school and their world.

Please Pray

Wednesday, September 26th, 2007

Please be in prayer for Phil and Pam Beasley, IMB missionaries to South Asia, as they fly back to the states for the funeral of their son, Chris, who was killed in an auto accident yesterday. He was a student at SBU in Bolivar.  Becca, Chris’ friend, remains in the hospital. Phil is the brother of our Mission Team leader, Michael Beasley.  Funeral arrangements are pending at this time.

Funeral Arrangements for Chris Beasley are as follows:

Visitation will be Wed. from 6:00 to 8:00 PM Park Lawn Funeral Home in Lathrop Mo;

Thurs. Morning  Visitation at FBC, Lathrop 10:00 AM

Funeral at FBC, Lathrop 11:00 AM

September 25 update

The visitation for Kris Beasley will be at the Lathrop First Baptist Church from 5-8 pm Wednesday instead of at the Funeral home.

From Michael Beasley, Mission Team Leader and uncle to Kris:  Another update, Rebecca, Kris’ girl friend is to get out of the hospital this morning.

Yes, I know. I don’t like the look of this site either, but I had to change away from the Narnia theme because of some errors in the sidebar. One thing I like about this layout is that there is more room for text and pictures (wider). When I get a free moment, I’ll go look for a better theme or fix the old one somehow. My head just couldn’t figure out the html code on the old one fast enough. So, this was a quicker, though dull solution.

Books, Books, Books

loads of books

I got so many books at the library today that they offered to find me a box. I have several passages that I am researching for dissertation and these represent books to research about the Parable of the Sower in the Gospel of Mark and Romans 12:2. I will probably need a few more for Romans, but this is a start. I have already obtained most of the books needed for researching James 1:19-27. All of these passages have to do with the subject of applying the Bible to our lives. My research question for the dissertations is basically: What happens after the sermon? How do/should people apply sermons to their lives?

 So, please pray for me as I study and write. I need to have three chapters written by the end of the year.
