Window of Prayer
Sunday, November 4th, 2007I have been reminded of the importance of prayer. If you are reading this blog, you are probably the very person that I need to have on my prayer team. For the last couple of years, God has been prompting me to be more proactive about building a network of prayer warriors. I know that there are many people out there that already pray for me. What I believe God wants me to do is to inform those wonderful prayer warriors about specific requests that I need prayer for.
I have called this blog a window into my little world. As I think about that idea as it relates to prayer, I am reminded of Daniel praying from the window of his home in Babylon. Daniel 6:10 says, “Now when Daniel learned that the decree had been published, he went home to his upstairs room where the windows opened toward Jerusalem. Three times a day he got down on his knees and prayed, giving thanks to his God, just as he had done before.” So, from this vantage point of my life, I have several things that I am praying about and would like to include you in those prayers.
Specific prayers:
- Pray that my passion for God’s Word would increase.
- Pray that I would be productive in writing my dissertation. (It’s all up to me now that seminars are complete. More on this later)
- Pray that our family would be safe and that we can nurture one another.
- Pray that I would have wisdom as I lead our church - staff, deacons, other leaders, and congregation.
- Pray that I would find opportunities to be a soul-winner.
- Pray that I can ignore the time killers and maximize my primary tasks.
Thank you for praying,
Pastor Jay
