First Baptist Church in Cameron, MO is pleased to announce our Judgement House 2024 presentation - "Deeply Rooted". Mark the dates: Sunday, October 20th; Wednesday, October 23rd; Sunday, October 27th. Additional details will be shared within the next few weeks!
Please reach us at tbeasley@cameronfbc.org if you cannot find an answer to your question.
Judgement House is a walk-through drama that depicts real-life decisions and the eternal consequences of those choices. The presentation is a “walk-through” drama which means that the audience walks from room to room to view the scenes of the drama. The tour does include stairs. However, for 2024, we plan to have a lift available to assist those with the greatest need in moving from the main level to the scenes which are located either downstairs or upstairs.
First Baptist Church will present the script “DEEPLY ROOTED” on Sunday, October 20th (2:30 to 8 p.m.); Wednesday, October 23rd (6 to 8 p.m.); and Sunday, October 27th(2:30 to 8 p.m.) From the time a tour group begins to view the drama until they reach the decision-time room, the presentation will take about an hour. A new tour begins the drama every fifteen minutes.
To keep the tour groups moving and due to the size of the presentation rooms, we like to keep tour groups to under 25 people in number. If your group is larger than 25 when you make your reservation, we will suggest that you divide into two or more tour groups that would begin the tour in consecutive fifteen-minute increments.
If you made your reservation for 3 p.m. (for example) – that is the time we would like you on the campus of First Baptist Church and in our gym – ready to begin the registration process. The 3 p.m. tour will actually begin viewing the drama at 3:15 p.m. and would arrive in the decision-time room by 4:15 p.m. Depending on decisions that are made, individuals would be finished around 4:30 p.m. and you would be ready to leave as all those within your party have finished in the decision room and/or visiting with a decision-time counselor.
The suggested donation to tour the drama is $2 per person. We do not ask that you pre-pay nor do we turn anyone away who cannot make the suggested donation. When you arrive for registration, there will be a donation container on the desk into which you will place your donation – either cash or a check (made payable to First Baptist Church, Cameron). All Judgement House proceeds will be used to offset the cost of the production.
As mentioned previously, tours begin every fifteen minutes, and each tour group is limited in size. So, making a reservation gives you a definite check-in time and assures that you are in a specific tour group. If you do not make a reservation and simply show-up, we will work you into the next available tour group that will accommodate the number of individuals in your group. With tours leaving every fifteen minutes, your wait could be a few minutes, or it could be a couple of hours, depending on how many reservations have been previously made. Reservations are strongly suggested. The reservation book will open on Tuesday, September 3rd at 9 a.m. You will make reservations by calling the church office at 816-632-7251 and indicating to the secretary that you would like to make reservations for Judgement House. She will then receive the necessary information from you for your reservation.
If you reserve for 15 (for example) and then realize that you are going to have 25 in attendance, that will impact your tour. Because tour sizes are limited, if we had already filled the remaining slots in your tour time, we may have to divide your group to accommodate the number of people attending. The sooner you know of changes to your group size, the better. Please notify us so that we can attempt to make the necessary accommodations. As you are reserving your tour time, it may be beneficial to reserve for the largest number that you would expect to bring. It is easier for us to make a reservation smaller (after the fact) and fill those spots than to have a tour that is over full with no openings in tours to accommodate those individuals.
We suggest that children under the age of 8 not walk through the drama. There are intense situations in a couple of scenes that a child under the age of 8 may not be ready to witness or understand. We do not have childcare available for the younger children of attendees.
This will be the sixth year that First Baptist Church in Cameron has presented a Judgement House drama. Each year, we stage a different script. So, while there are similarities between the scripts, the story and characters are different. Each script includes a judgement scene, hell scene, and heaven scene. This year’s script is an original script written by Denise Beasley of F.B.C. Cameron. While the script keeps several of the hallmark features of Judgement House there are also a few substantial changes that will make this years’ experience unique.
You will begin in the gymnasium of First Baptist Church where you register and await the beginning of your tour. This is the room to which you will return after you have completed your tour. A concession stand will be open with drink and snack items for sale.
The Judgement House drama that you view does not teach the specific doctrine of any one Christian church or denomination. However, the presentation is unapologetically Christ-centered – for it is by grace through faith in Christ that a person is saved. Through the Judgement House drama, the Gospel is presented, and individuals have the opportunity to receive the gift of salvation. While Judgement House is an encouragement to the Believer, we strongly encourage churches and individuals to invite un-saved friends so that they might hear and respond to the truth of the Good News.
We would ask that individuals attending Judgement House self-monitor their health. If a person is running a fever or is not feeling well, please isolate. First Baptist Church will do all that we can to comply with the requirements of the state, county and city. Unless mandated by government officials, we will not mandate masks. However, an individual is welcome to wear a mask if it helps them feel more comfortable. Should governmental mandates cause a change to our expectations, this will be communicated to groups and individuals who have made reservations and through other means of communication as available to us.
If you have other questions, please call First Baptist Church at 816-632-7251 and ask for Terry Beasley. You can also send a message through the church’s Judgement House Facebook page (First Baptist Church Judgement House) to the office email or to Pastor Terry’s email (as identified below)
